What is your current state of mind?
Happy, optimistic and intense.

Nelson Mandela.

What is the best piece of advice you were ever given and from whom did you get it?
My mom said, “Just be yourself.”

What is the one thing you’d change about yourself?
I wish that I could sing.

What is the most outrageous thing you’ve heard said about yourself?
I’ve had several people tell me that I look like Cameron Diaz. I just don’t see it.

What would it take to make you go, WOW!!!?
At this point in time, to exceed UW’s campaign goal and raise $15 Million this year.

Who are your real life heroes?
Nelson Mandela, Stephen Lewis, Jane Jacobs, David Suzuki, Margaret Atwood and my husband. My husband actually saved my life on a ski run in Fernie, B.C. a few years ago.

What feature / quality do you find most interesting in another person?
Compassion.

What word or phrase do you most overuse?
I’m sorry that I’m late.

What is your earliest memory of childhood?
I loved going to the library with my mom and bringing home an armload of books. The library broke protocol and gave me my first library card when I was three years-old. The policy was to issue library cards to kids at six years of age.

What has been your greatest memory?
The birth of my two daughters, Caitlin and Lauren.

What would your autobiography be called?
United We Can!

You have $100. What do you spend it on?
I’d give it to UW of course!

What’s your pet peeve? What really ticks you off?
People who are not open-minded.

Who is your favourite fictional hero?
Linda Carter as Wonder Woman.

Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever met?
Stephen Lewis.

You have an afternoon all to yourself away from everything / everybody. How do you spend it?
I would go to the market and buy some lovely fresh ingredients and make a delicious French meal while listening to some fantastic music.

You arrive at the pearly gates. What does St. Peter say to you?
You’re late!

If the whole world were listening, what would you say?
We should all get along, because we’re all in this together.
