What is your current state of mind?
Optimistic about the future of our community and our youth.

What are the components of bliss?
Appearing in front of Regional Council to report that we’re under budget.

If you could invite anyone from history to dinner who would it be?
Winston Churchill and Hazel McCallion…now that would be interesting.

What’s the best piece of advice you were ever given, and from whom did you get it?
My dad reminding me of a Mark Twain quote: “If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.”

What is the one thing you’d change about yourself?
My age.

What is the most outrageous thing you’ve heard said about yourself?
That I’m a good golfer.

What would it take to make you go, WOW!?
The federal government offering to pay a percentage of policing costs in Peel Region.

Who are your real life heroes?
Youth who overcome challenge and succeed to inspire others, former Premier Bill Davis, Regional Chair Emil Kolb and Hockey Legend (and Honourary Peel Police Chief) Johnny Bower.

What feature/quality do you find most interesting in another person?
Honesty, integrity, compassion and a sense of humour.

What word of phrase do you most overuse?
“Anybody have an aspirin?”

What is your earliest memory of childhood?
My mother, my father, my sister and I at our cottage in Wasaga Beach.

You have $100.00, what do you spend it on?
$20 each to Juvenile Diabetes, Toys for Tots, Armagh House, United Way and the Ian Anderson Hospice. Then I would borrow $20 and donate it to Cops for Cancer.

What has been your greatest memory?
Playing golf with my father (he passed away in 1972).

What would your autobiography be called?
“That Kid From Streetsville”

What’s your pet peeve, what really ticks you off?
My putting at any golf course.

Who is your favourite fictional hero?
Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird).

Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever met?
General Rick Hillier.

You have an afternoon all to yourself away from everything / everybody, how do you spend it?
Relax at home and read a book…with no phone calls.

You arrive at the pearly gates, what does St. Peter say to you?
“You have the right to remain silent” or “I suppose you want to rest near the donut shop.”

If the whole world were listening, what would you say?
Never miss an opportunity to help those in need.
